On May 6, 2020, Strukton Rail North America hosted its first TechTalk in our virtual technology series. The 30-minute TechTalk, “How Can Remote Asset Condition Monitoring Benefit Your Railroad?” addressed the importance of smart maintenance practices and provided insight into Strukton Rail’s POSS condition monitoring solution.

Mark Lentini, Reliability Engineer, highlighted the need to move from reactive to preventive and, ultimately, predictive maintenance in order to improve railway operational efficiency. He showed how the POSS R7 platform has features such as a heat map and health score to pinpoint where potential asset issues, such as with switches, may arise. In addition, he was able to answer a great number of audience questions during the Q&A at the end of the presentation.

Stay tuned for our next TechTalk on June 4 to present WillowRail – our digital twin platform, which is an open ecosystem that integrates once disparate tools into a single, intuitive platform. WillowRail has gotten glowing reviews from Microsoft’s Satya Nadella […] “that digital twin is being used to streamline the entire operation.”
